This is a story about a little hospital situated at a Thai-Burmese border. Mae Tao Clinic is a haven for immigrants from Burma, who often bridge hundreds of kilometers to receive the necessary medical attention. Patients are treated for free – both those who have the papers and those who are in Thailand illegally. Every year help is granted to more than 150,000 people. For most of them, this is the only chance to get the cure.
The photos are part of a larger project. More about the Mae Tao Clinic in reportage ‘Doctor’.
